With more than 58,000 mail-in ballots counted of the approximately 90,000 received so far, initial election results for Placer County are in. Mail-in ballots usually account for 70 percent of the votes cast in Placer County. Placer’s voter registration rolls grew by 22,000 people from the June primary election to more than 227,000, a roughly 10 percent increase.
Full results are posted on Placer County’s election website.
As ballots from polling sites arrive and are counted at the Placer County elections office in Auburn, results will be updated starting at about 10 p.m. every half hour until all available ballots have been counted. Final, certified results - including provisional ballots needing verification and eligible mail-in ballots not yet received - will be posted within 30 days.
