Supervisor Montgomery Changing Location of Monthly Auburn Coffee

Published on January 30, 2015

Grassroots communication between the public and their elected officials is a foundation of our representative democracy. The beauty of local government is that the representatives are much closer and accessible to their constituents than at any other level of government in the state or country.

With that in mind, in Placer County, the coffee gatherings held by some county supervisors are an informal opportunity for face-to-face meetings with the people who represent you. Residents are encouraged to attend these coffees to meet with their supervisor and discuss interests or concerns.

Fifth District Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery holds four coffee meetings throughout her District and will be moving the location of the Auburn Coffee to the county's Administrative Center (the Domes), 175 Fulweiler Avenue, Conference Room A, in Auburn. The event, previously held in the downtown area at the Depoe Bay Coffee Company, is open to the public and provides a more informal meeting opportunity on a drop-in basis. The new locale is easily accessed and also provides more parking.

The time for the Auburn coffee will remain unchanged at 9 a.m. and will continue to be on the second Monday of each month. The next coffee is scheduled for March 9th as Supervisor Montgomery is unavailable in February. Residents from anywhere in the 5th District, which spans from the City of Auburn to North Lake Tahoe, are encouraged to attend but topics in Auburn mainly focus on county-wide issues and issues specific to the North Auburn and Meadow Vista areas.
