To pay your taxes you must first look up your tax bill information by using the search feature. Once you have located the bill you wish to pay, you may add it to your cart and proceed to checkout. Prior to proceeding, please be aware the 3rd party online payment vendor charges additional fees, shown below.

Please be aware it may take up to 90 minutes to view your posted online payment. After you have received your confirmation number, please wait 90 minutes before viewing your payment online. If you do not receive a confirmation number at the end of your transaction, your payment information has not been accepted and no payment has been made.

Vendor Charges

Company and Business debit cards are processed as credit cards and will incur the vendor charges listed above.

If an error message is received when making a debit card payment that states the debit card is invalid, and the payment process is continued, the debit card will be treated as a credit card and the credit card fee will apply. This generally occurs when using a debit card that requires a pin number.

Instructions

To use the search feature, you must have your 12 digit Assessment Number or 12 digit Fee Parcel number. Enter the information into the appropriate box and click the "Submit" button. If you are searching by Assessment Number, only that assessment will appear. If you wish to view all tax bills associated with the parcel (i.e. supplemental and unsecured), searching by Fee Parcel will bring up all tax bills associated with the parcel. When the assessment you are inquiring about appears on the next screen, click on it and the tax information will be displayed.

Credit Cards

There are no charges by the Placer County Tax Collector for processing the payment transaction. Our third party vendor will, however, charge a separate convenience fee, listed above. You will be informed of all charges and fees before you authorize the payment. This fee is in addition to any charges, such as interest, that may be assessed by your credit card issuer.

Debit Cards

There are no charges by the Placer County Tax Collector for processing the payment transaction. Our third party vendor will, however, charge a separate convenience fee. The fee will result in a second withdrawal from your account. You will be informed of all charges and fees before you authorize the payment. This fee is in addition to any charges, such as interest, that may be assessed by your credit card issuer.

Electronic Check (E-Check)

The Tax Collector accepts payments via Electronic Check (E-Check) from checking or savings accounts. A third party vendor charges a separate non-refundable $0.75 cents per transaction fee for this service that will result in a second withdrawal from your account.

The E-Check payment system does not have access to the checking or savings account used to make a payment. It therefore cannot verify the accuracy of the routing or checking account numbers that are entered, nor can it validate the sufficiency of funds for the transaction. Please double check the information entered. If necessary utilize the “what’s this?” links that can be found on the payment entry page.

The confirmation number received at the end of the transaction only acknowledges successful receipt of information entered. It does not confirm that the information is accurate, valid, or that there are sufficient funds in the account. If the e-check is not honored because of incorrect routing or checking account numbers entered, or for non-sufficient funds, a returned check fee of $65 and any applicable statutory delinquency fees will be added to the parcel(s) affected.
