Genevieve Vargas, architect and resident of Placer County, has joined the Department of Public Works and Facilities, Capital Improvements Division, as a Senior Architect. Her many years of facilities development experience while in the private sector will provide the department with valuable leadership, overseeing project scopes, schedules and budgets for capital improvements across the County. Genevieve’s background includes facility programming, master planning, design, construction documentation and administration leadership on dozens of projects ranging in scale from small tenant improvements to large-scale new ground up buildings for clients throughout Northern California. Her resume includes project management experience on the South Placer Justice Center in Roseville, one of Placer County’s newest facilities. In addition to her County position, Genevieve provides leadership as the Vice President/President elect of the Board of Directors of the Central Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Her time away from work is mostly consumed by being a mom to two adopted foster kids but she finds time to kickbox a few times a week for fun.
