Animal Services

Beginning June 1, Placer County Animal Services lobby and animal areas will be open to visitors with the following guidelines:

  • Lobby is limited to 8 people at a time. Please observe marked spaces on floor to maintain appropriate distance between visitors
  • Adoptable animal sections are limited to 4 people in the dog or cat sections at a time
  • Sanitize hands prior to entry and frequently throughout your visit
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance between parties
  • Wearing a mask is highly encouraged
  • Please follow signage for entering/exiting facility and waiting outside if lobby maximum is reached
  • Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell
  • Lobby sign with COVID-19 measures (PDF)

Placer County Animal Services’ mission is to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of the animals and people in our community. Through collaborative and sustainable partnerships, we strive to improve the lives of the animals in our care through:

  • veterinary treatment and preventative care, 
  • reuniting lost pets with their families, and 
  • ensuring positive outcomes through adoption, rescue or foster programs.
