Robert Weygandt

Supervisor, District 2

Phone: 916-408-1264
Term: January 2015 to December 2018

A lot is happening in District 2 and throughout the county. Visiting my website is a great way to learn about issues I am working on and to share with me your concerns and ideas. I encourage you to visit it regularly.

My commitment remains the same today as it was the first day I took office in 1995: to maximize the value of county services and provide the leadership needed to help guide one of the fastest-growing counties in California.

Although our county faced severe financial difficulties in the past few years, the careful long-range planning that we followed has paid off. Today our county’s future looks bright. Placer County has earned a well-deserved reputation as a great place to live, work, lean and play.

I am determined to continue the progress we have made during my 21 years on the Board. I pledge to continue working hard on behalf of my constituents. I'm privileged to represent District 2 and thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in a county I am grateful to call home.

Placer County’s Opposition to the Potential Placement of a Sexually Violent Predator in Our Community - Update

I am very pleased that the judge in Santa Clara County, on February 7, sided with the thousands of Placer County voices that actively fought the possible placement of Dariel Shazier, a sexually violent predator, in our community. I think it's important to be aware that while we won the battle, the war is not over yet. The possibility remains that other offenders could be arbitrarily placed in our community. I am committed to continuing to work with the state and others to change the policies that would allow something like this to happen.

Biography

Robert M. Weygandt, a member of the Placer County Board of Supervisors since 1995, lives on the same foothills ranch in rural Lincoln where he grew up. He represents the western portion of the county, including Lincoln, Sheridan, and the western portions of Rocklin and Roseville. He has lived in Placer County for over 50 years and was recently re-elected to his sixth four-year term.

Experience

After graduating from Lincoln High School, I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in finance and management from the University of Southern California (go Trojans!). I was vice president, chief financial officer and part owner of WECO Aerospace Systems, an aircraft repair facility based in Lincoln. My other past experience includes service as a county planning commissioner, member of the county economic development board and community college instructor.

Today, I am avidly involved in Placer Legacy-a program to protect land, water and open space within the county. I am an avid outdoorsman and admit to being a fanatic fly fisherman.

Family

I have a son Eric and a daughter Stephanie who both work in Placer County. I am a proud grandpa-with granddaughters Haley, Sydney, Madison and grandsons Braden, Tanner, and Blake.
