The Placer County Sheriff's Office Colfax Substation is staffed primarily by volunteers from the community who are interested in assisting the Sheriff's Office in a variety of areas. To inquire about how you can become a Sheriff's Office volunteer, please call us at 916-652-2400 or email us.
The City of Colfax contracts it's law enforcement needs through the Placer County Sheriff's Office. The city currently has a population base of 1,500 residents and numerous businesses, with more growth predicted in the near future. The Sheriff's Office also services the outlying County area with an additional 5,000 residents. The Colfax Substation is manned by a Sergeant, 4 City dedicated deputies and 2 resident deputies, who handle the area between Colfax and Donner summit. The Colfax Substation also enjoys the services of senior volunteers.
The entire staff of the Colfax Substation requested this duty station and is very dedicated to providing excellent law enforcement services to the community.
From I-80 follow signs to Main Street, Colfax. Take South Auburn Street eastbound which then turns north across railroad tracks to stop sign at Main Street. Continue straight, then left on Culvert St. Building will be on the left, on the corner of Culvert and West Grass Valley St.
