Captain Brian Silva started his law enforcement career in 1998 as a Correctional Officer with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office selected Silva as a Deputy Trainee in 2000 and sponsored his attendance at the police academy.

Captain Troy Minton-Sander began his career with the Placer County Sheriff's Office in 1997. He became a sergeant in 2003, and was promoted to lieutenant in 2010, serving as the lieutenant of Investigations.

South Placer Jail Commander Nelson Resendes
Captain Nelson Resendes began his career with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office in 2001, where he held assignments throughout the sheriff’s office. Captain Resendes was promoted to Sergeant in 2011 and Lieutenant in 2018. As a Sergeant, Captain Resendes was assigned to patrol, property crimes, and crimes against persons. As a Lieutenant, Captain Resendes was assigned to the Auburn jail, investigations, and served as the Lieutenant of the South Placer Substation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Captain Jeff Swearingen began his career with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office in corrections in 1997, before being sent to the academy as a deputy sheriff trainee in 1999.
