January 28, 2020
The Placer County Board of Supervisors conducted a public hearing on January 28th. After receiving public testimony, the Board took action (4:0:1) to adopt a resolution approving the PCSP.
December 12, 2019
The Placer County Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on December 12, 2019 to consider the Final PCSP.

Following the Planning Commission public hearing, a Board of Supervisors public hearing will be conducted in early 2020. The Board of Supervisors will receive input from the public and will consider the Planning Commission’s recommendation.
December 2, 2019
The November 2019 Final Placer County Sustainability Plan (PCSP) was made available for public review. The PCSP is a comprehensive program that outlines various programs and policies that will be undertaken by the community and the County as a whole, in order to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhance community resiliency to long-term changes associated with climate-related hazards.
Previous Public Workshops
August, 2019
In August of 2019, the County hosted a second workshop series, consisting of two public workshops and a study session/workshop with the Planning Commission. The second series of workshops focused on seeking input on the draft PCSP.

In March and April of 2018, the County, working with the PCSP consultants, PlaceWorks and Sierra Business Council, hosted the first workshop series, consisting of three workshops, which were intended to raise awareness about the PCSP, to share preliminary results of the early technical tasks (i.e., GHG inventories, Vulnerability Assessment), and to initiate early engagement in GHG reduction and adaptation strategies.

Outreach Activities
Placer County is following a widely used and accepted planning process, consistent with State guidance, to create the County’s Sustainability Plan.
- Outreach activities to members of the public and key stakeholders are set to occur in Autumn 2017, Winter 2018, and Summer 2019.
- Public workshops/meetings, which will serve as study sessions for County officials and will also provide additional engagement opportunities for members of the public and key stakeholders, are currently set for Winter 2018, Spring 2018, and Summer 2019.
