Manslaughter Charges Filed Against Auburn Man

Felony manslaughter charges were filed today against Philip Morris Ingram, 62, of Auburn, in relation to the April 3, 2016 death of two teenage boys on Highway-49 in Auburn. Mr. Ingram was charged with two counts of violating 191.5(a) of the Penal Code. Ingram was also charged with hit and run driving in violation of 20002 of the Vehicle Code related to a collision that occurred minutes before the two Auburn youths were killed. The charges filed in this case are based on the current state of the evidence in the investigation. The investigation is however ongoing and additional charges may be added as further evidence is developed.

Ingram is in custody at the Placer County Jail. His bail is set at $575,000. He will be arraigned today in Department 13 of the Placer County Superior Court at 1 p.m.
