WOMAN WHO DEFRAUDED CLIENTS AT SPA BUSINESS GETS 210 DAYS IN JAIL AND MUST PAY BACK $10,500

The former owner of a Roseville spa and salon business has been sentenced to 210 days in jail and ordered to pay back $10,500 to customers who she defrauded in 2008.

Heather Lynn Collins, 35, of Lincoln also was placed on formal probation for three years when she appeared for sentencing before Placer County Superior Court Judge Colleen Nichols on September 2.

Collins, who owned Radiance Medi-Spa, pleaded no contest to two felony counts of identity theft in a case in which nearly 40 of her customers were either double-billed on their credit cards for services or were charged for services or products they did not order.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office investigated complaints about the spa and arrested Collins on February 6, 2009.
