Tahoe Basin Area Plan
UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, we are postponing this in-person workshop to March 23, 2023 to learn more about the Tahoe Basin Area Plan proposed amendments. It will be held on March 23rd from 5-7 p.m. at the North Tahoe Event Center. Engage with staff on the following topics: building form such as height and length, achievable housing, density and TRPA development rights, and town center reinvestment.
The Tahoe Basin Area Plan and Implementing Regulations were adopted by the Placer County Board of Supervisors on December 6, 2016, and by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board on January 25, 2017. The Tahoe Basin Area Plan Implementing Regulations were updated again in 2021 to accelerate the production and supply of affordable-achievable housing in the North Tahoe-Placer County area. Those updates were approved by the TRPA Governing Board on February 17, 2021 and by the Placer County Board of Supervisors on December 15, 2020. The Area Plan and Implementing Regulations replace all previous community plans, general plans, land use regulations, development standards and guidelines, and Plan Area Statements within the Tahoe Basin.
