- New traffic signal for Bell, Richardson in Auburn
Published on April 10, 2018
A new traffic signal is set to go live at the intersection of Bell Road and Richardson Drive in North Auburn the week of April 16, intended to allow for safer access to Bell Road as Richardson is extended northward in the coming years.
Construction for the signal’s installation will require some temporary traffic detours and road closures.
Beginning April 13, road resurfacing and striping will take place along Bell Road between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with through access closed on Richardson Drive and several other roads intersecting Bell during those hours. Through traffic will be allowed along Bell Road under traffic control, with rolling lane closures during work hours. Project managers expect the project to be completed by Friday, April 20.
Motorists are cautioned to drive carefully near workers on the road, and to pay attention to traffic patterns approaching the new signal.
Employees and visitors can access offices at the Placer County Government Center campus using Richardson between B Avenue and the DeWitt History Museum and a detour route along B Avenue and 1st Street, and Professional Drive.
A map of the work area, detour routes and temporary road closures is available here (shown below).
