Note: A previous version of this news release incorrectly indicated that Roseville's and Colfax's measures require a two-thirds majority to pass. They are correctly described below as requiring a simple majority, or 50% plus one, to pass.
With more than 54,000 mail-in and early voting ballots counted of the approximately 92,600 received so far, Roseville’s Measure B sales tax measure to fund public safety and essential services is at just under 63% for approval and Colfax’s Measure C to tax retail cannabis is at 66.67%. Both measures require a simple majority, or 50% plus one, to pass.
Mail-in and early voting ballots received account for about 40% of the total 231,461 registered voters in Placer County.
Full results are posted on Placer County’s election website.
As ballots from polling sites arrive and are counted at the Placer County Elections Office in Auburn, results will be updated starting at about 10 p.m. every 45 minutes until all available ballots have arrived and been counted. Final, certified results - including provisional ballots needing verification and eligible mail-in ballots not yet received - will be posted within 30 days.
