Tahoe Transportation Demand Management

Placer County is in the process of developing Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies to implement transportation management-related goals and policies adopted in the Tahoe Basin Area Plan. Placer County staff are seeking input from community members about top opportunities for TDM implementation in the North Tahoe region.

Alternative Travel Choices

Transportation Demand Management focuses on understanding how people make their transportation decisions and helping people use the infrastructure in place to maximize alternative travel choice such as:

Next Steps

The North Tahoe Regional Advisory Council will be asked to take action on the draft TDM strategies at their April meeting, with final consideration of the Final TDM strategies by the Board of Supervisors projected to take place later this spring. 

A detailed presentation during the North Tahoe Regional Advisory Council meeting will be followed by an informal question and answer workshop. You will have the opportunity to participate, ask questions, and give feedback.
