Placer partners with Placer County Contractors Association to offer permitting assistance in Roseville

Placer County and the Placer County Contractors Association have created a public-private partnership to offer free help with county building permit applications at the PCCA’s offices in Roseville.
“In an effort to be more business friendly, our collaboration with PCCA makes it easier for members of the community who rarely apply for permits to obtain assistance, and to do so without having to visit the county’s permit center in Auburn,” said Placer County Chief Building Official Tim Wegner.
Beginning Feb. 1, PCCA will offer a kiosk for the new LINKED program that will be available to help citizens, contractors and business owners complete online permit applications and plan submittals directly to the Placer County Community Development Resource Agency.
PCCA staff will be available to convert applicants’ paper construction drawings into a digital set and help them through the entire online application process. They can also help applicants find a California-licensed contractor to complete their project. These services are free to applicants.
“We’re proud of our partnership with Placer County,” said PCCA Executive Vice President Jeff Henry. “We spend a lot of our time on the mediation side of building permitting, so we want to help streamline the application process especially for small businesses so they can move forward with applying for permits as quickly as possible."
The LINKED kiosk should reduce the need for applicants in western Placer County to travel to Auburn to seek county permits at the counter, and PCCA’s technical assistance is expected to help the county approve permits more quickly.
