North Auburn Community 5K Fun Run

We are excited to be bringing back our 4th Annual North Auburn Community 5K Fun Run! This year's Run will be held on Saturday, October 14th. It is held in honor of Deputy Karen Johnson, with all proceeds benefiting the Northern California Special Olympic Athletes.

Deputy Johnson was an avid runner and was a DARE instructor in our Youth and Community Services Unit.  She was an instrumental part of bringing the Special Olympic Torch Run to Placer County. Approximately 20 years ago Deputy Johnson was out doing a training run and was hit and killed by a car.

Placer County Sheriff’s Office has continued to annually participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, partially in her honor and because we are committed to supporting the Special Olympics. It is the main event for our friends, family and community to show support and engage with Placer County Torch Run team members! Not to mention, meet and support our local Northern California Special Olympic Athletes.

The run will take place in the Dewitt Center, with the start and finish at the Auburn Justice Center. Join us for a good cause and fun event in North Auburn.
