Placer Hills voters will have the opportunity to decide their level of fire and emergency medical service in "a" special mail ballot election May 7. The Placer County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution that will put the "measure" on special election ballots for an increase in parcel tax rates.

300 acres of open space slated for conservation
Nearly 300 acres of restored wetlands and endangered species habitat near Lincoln will be permanently conserved with the Placer County Board of Supervisors yesterday approving a purchase and sale agreement for $2,354,711 to buy a conservation easement over the land.

Reminder to clear propane tanks

Child Support Services continues to improve
Placer County Department of Child Support Services has improved on their statewide performance statistics for a second consecutive year. Under federal performance measures, CSS ranked first among medium-sized counties and third overall out of 58 counties in California in fiscal year 2018, surpassing last year’s statistics.

Road safety signage upgrades
The safety of Placer County roadways took a major step forward today with the county Board of Supervisors voting to award a $1 million contract to Highway Specialty Company Inc. to upgrade signage throughout the county.

Forest health and reducing wildfire risk was a key topic today as the Board of Supervisors voted on a resolution to move forward on a multi-agency partnership project covering 30,000 acres of public and private land around French Meadows Reservoir, west of Lake Tahoe.
