Bowman road bridges improvement project begins spring 2019

Placer County Department of Public Works will begin construction this spring on the Bowman Road Bridges Improvement project. The two existing bridges built in 1945 cross the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in North Auburn and were both determined to be in need of repair.

Attend the upcoming North Auburn Municipal Advisory Council meeting to learn more about project and what to expect during construction.

WHY: Placer County staff will present a project overview and answer questions. 

The Bowman Road Bridges Improvement Project will ensure continued safe travel on Bowman Road. Once constructed, the new bridges will include several improvements including:

  • Wider bridge decks
  • Improved bridge piers, abutments and girders
  • Widened sidewalks on the bridges and roadway approaches
  • Additional roadway shoulder width for bicycles
  • Structural improvements
