Affordable Housing Developer Incentive Program

Placer County, like most places in California, is facing a housing shortage for low- to middle-income residents. The Placer County Board of Supervisors has made it their priority to address the housing needs of our community by organizing a Housing Unit made up of county staff representing all county departments that work on housing issues. The Housing Unit is developing an all-around approach to combating these housing issues by implementing a wide variety of housing strategies, such as exploring permit process streamlining, financing, marketing strategies and more.

Area Median Income (AMI)

Affordable housing in a safe environment is essential to the health of our community. It gives families the ability to live stable lives while being able to afford basic needs, like food, clothing, medical care and transportation. In order to qualify as affordable, housing cost cannot exceed 30% of a family’s gross income and must serve families making 80% of the Area Median Income.
