Placer County Library celebrates mandarin season with “Paint Placer Orange” on Dec. 6

Things are about to get very sweet at the Placer County Library as the county celebrates the seasonal mandarin harvest with the “Paint Placer Orange” event Dec. 6.

In partnership with PlacerGROWN, all Placer County libraries and the Bookmobile will have free mandarins for visitors (while these tasty treats last) and a bushel of crafts and programs that showcase Placer’s awesome little citrus fruit. Library staff will be on hand, festively dressed in orange, to help everyone get into the mandarin spirit and all ages are welcome to participate.

“Placer’s agriculture has always been at the heart of the community’s history, traditions and economy,” said Auburn library branch senior librarian, Tony Carmack. “So, too, has the Placer County Library system been part of the community’s center as a valuable source of information and lifelong learning."
