ISOLATION keeps those who are infected with a contagious disease from people who are not infected, even in their own home. QUARANTINE restricts the movement of persons who were exposed to a contagious disease in case they become infected.
If you test positive for COVID-19, the Placer County Public Health Division may reach out via VA survey with a text to your phone. Please watch this short video for background on the VA survey. Here is a link to the video in Spanish as well.
*Going forward, Public Health is unable to provide individualized return to work clearance letters. Please refer to the above documents for details on when you may self-release from isolation or quarantine.
For more information regarding symptoms of COVID-19 visit the CDPH and CDC’s websites.
Stay home if you are sick. Individuals with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should get tested, even if symptoms are mild. Individuals who test positive should follow isolation guidance.
Individuals who develop difficulty breathing, feel extremely tired, or were feeling better but then feel a lot worse should call their health care provider. If they will be going to the provider’s office or urgent care center, they should call ahead so that the health care provider can be prepared to care for them.
