- A New Start in Newcastle
A New Start in Newcastle
Karen J. can’t help but feel that dreams are coming true when she looks across her property at the Accessory Home that houses her nephew Steven and his young family.
Steven and his wife, Jenn, had always dreamed of raising a family in the country along with a host of farm animals. Faced with urgent health and safety conditions in their rental and limited options, they borrowed a travel trailer and moved it onto Karen and husband Larry’s Newcastle property.
Unfortunately, Steven and Jenn’s dream of saving enough money to buy a home and land would have meant many difficult years living in a trailer.
Karen and Larry knew that Steven and Jenn’s trailer-living situation was not sustainable, especially during the summer heat and with baby number two on the way. With time now of the essence, Karen and Larry offered to install a prefabricated Accessory Home on their property. Steven and Jenn were thrilled to know they would be out of the trailer and living the lifestyle they dreamed of much sooner and helping Karen fulfill a long-held dream.
“I always wanted to live on a property that also had my family nearby,” Karen said. “Having the Accessory Home is really special and something my dad always wanted, too. I wish he were still alive to see it.”
Today, Steven and Jenn are enjoying the country life; raising their children with a big backyard equipped with play structures and a trampoline. They even built a chicken coop and have plans to raise goats, too.
Karen and Larry enjoy knowing that their family is close-by and peace of mind that their home and two cats will be looked after while they travel.
