Know your advocates

There are many rights that victims are entitled to during the criminal justice process. These are also numerous resources and support services that may be available. The Placer County District Attorney’s Victim Advocates are trained to support victims of crime. They are knowledgeable about the criminal justice process as well as community resources and services. They provide emotional support, victims’ rights information, help in finding needed resources and assistance in filling out crime victim-related forms. Our advocates frequently accompany victims and their family members to court throughout the criminal justice proceedings. Advocates work closely with other organizations, such as county resources, community services and CalVCB, to provide help or information for the victims we serve.
