Placer County is committed to helping our residents affected by the Mosquito Fire recover as quickly and safely as possible. Please consider this site your one-stop-shop for recovery information and we'll continue to update it as new resources and information become available.

As a reminder for families whose homes have suffered structural damage, please do not remove ash and debris without approval from Placer County Environmental Health. For more information on the debris removal process and a schedule, visit our Debris Removal page below. 

Placer County has proclaimed a local emergency, which was ratified by the Placer County Board of Supervisors Sept. 13, due to the ongoing threat from the Mosquito Fire. Governor Gavin Newsom has also proclaimed a state of emergency for Placer and El Dorado counties due to the Mosquito Fire. The county’s interim health officer also declared a Local Health Emergency due to hazardous waste and debris from the Mosquito Fire, which was ratified by the Board of Supervisors on Sept. 27.
