Project Overview

The Tahoe Fee District is one of eleven in the Countywide Transportation Fee Program and includes the unincorporated area east of the Sierra Crest, inside and outside the Tahoe Basin. Revenues from the fee program are used to fund a portion of transportation capital improvement costs in eastern Placer County. The program updates reflect the County’s vision for reducing vehicle miles traveled (VMT) by expanding transit, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.  The project list will also include improvements to address roadway safety and consistency with adopted planning documents.  

The update process includes an evaluation of the fee program methodology, data collection, project cost estimates, and technical calculations to demonstrate a nexus for potential modifications to the existing fee, as required by the Mitigation Fee Act.
