Throughout Dec., Placer County Animal Services invites the community to celebrate five years at its new animal center. WithImage of dog with text that says $5 adoptions the help from generous donors, the center will be offering $5 adoptions among other specials.

Tentative redistricting map approved
At its Nov. 30 meeting, the Placer County Board of Supervisors supported a new supervisorial district map to reflect population growth as per 2020 Census data.

Board continues discussions on proposed redistricting maps
The Placer County Board of Supervisors will continue its discussion on proposed supervisorial district maps following its Nov 30 tentative vote in support of Map A. The Board is still scheduled to hold a second vote on Map A tomorrow but more discussion is possible on the alternatives, including a newly proposed map.

New emergency preparedness dashboard
Heading into the stormy holiday weekend, Placer County has unveiled a new map dashboard to provide real-time information for residents and travelers. The Office of Emergency Services Ready Placer dashboard provides road closure and traffic information , access to CALTRANS traffic cameras, power outage information, sandbag locations and more.

Auburn library extends hours
With low temperatures forecast this week and power out in several communities, Placer County’s Auburn library will operate with extended hours to offer residents a place to charge phones, laptops and durable medical devices.

2022 election season kicking off
The 2022 election season is set to kick off this January in Placer County. The signature-in-lieu period for the June 7 statewide direct primary election is open to Placer County residents at 8 a.m. on Jan. 3 and closes at 5 p.m. on Feb. 9.
