Placer County’s Adopted Budget and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report serve as communication tools to speak clearly to citizens, businesses, and interested stakeholders of Placer County. These documents provide content that is designed to present fairly and accurately, the financial position and results of operations of Placer County.

Adopted Budget

Placer County adopts a budget annually following guidance provided in the County Budget Act (sections 29000 through 29144 of the Government Code). The budget outlines appropriations (spending limits) for the provision of services and estimated financing sources for all County governmental and proprietary funds, dependent special districts, and other agencies whose affairs/finances are under the supervision/control of Placer County’s Board of Supervisors.

Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)

The ACFR of the County of Placer is submitted annually in compliance with Sections 25250 and 25253 of the Government Code of the State of California. Following Government Finance Officer Association’s recommendation, beginning in the fiscal year 2020-21 Placer County changed the name of this report from Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) to ACFR.
