Jim Hudson

Deputy Chief

Chief Jim Hudson began his fire service career as a Firefighter with the Higgins Fire Protection District in 1999.  As the Deputy Chief of Operations, Chief Hudson oversees all Ground and Air Operations, Fleet, Command and Control, and Training and EMS.  Over the last 23 years, Chief Hudson has dedicated his career to operational disciplines and statewide instruction including Truck Company Operations, Rapid Intervention Crew Operations, Firefighter Survival, Technical Rescue and Tactical EMS.  He is a certified Paramedic and has served on the Department’s Statewide Safety Committee and Training Committee.

Chief Hudson has served as an Operations Section Chief on CAL FIRE Teams 4 and 5, as well as the Sacramento Regional Type III IMT.  In 2022, he was named as an Incident Commander Trainee for Team 5.
