Stormwater Quality BMP maintenance Verification Program

Placer County is a designated municipal States National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), which regulates stormwater flows into natural waterbodies. Placer County Stormwater Quality program, as part of the County’s requirements of the State’s General Storm Water Permit, is required to monitor the maintenance of this development’s permanent stormwater treatment facilities. The intent of the maintenance program is to ensure that privately installed storm water treatment devices (BMPs) are properly maintained throughout their effective life cycle. Proper maintenance will continue to lessen the long-term impacts of polluted storm water discharges resulting from new and redevelopment projects in the County.  

Annual maintenance of private stormwater treatment devices (BMPs) must be conducted per County requirements, to assure proper operation and functionality. Each Site/Facility must annually submit a verification via the on-line form located at www.placer.ca.gov/postconstructionreporting.

Maintenance condition is determined through this annual self-certification process where authorized parties demonstrate proper maintenance and operations for each post-construction BMP facility. These can include 3rd party inspection reports, completed form(s) and photographs demonstrating the BMPs have been annually maintained per manufacturer or design engineer recommendations.
