The intention behind developing the Placer County Electric Vehicle Readiness Guide (EVRG) is to create a comprehensive road map to facilitate and plan for the increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Placer County. In addition, this guide will serve Placer County residents, schools, businesses, and government agencies by providing relevant best practices, funding opportunities, and technical analysis to encourage EV deployment.
This guide will support the adoption of all-electric vehicles that contribute to GHG reductions by using one or more electric motors for propulsion. It specifically focuses on plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) to guide regional coordination on the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS).
The EVRG implements the goals of the Placer County Sustainability Plan by advancing reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to achieve multiple community-wide goals, such as reducing air and water pollution, supporting local economic development, and improving public health and quality of life within Placer County.
