- Robert Weygandt is Placer Board of Sups chair
Published on January 07, 2016
District 2 Supervisor Robert Weygandt was selected to serve as chairman of the Placer County Board of Supervisors for 2016 by his fellow board members during the board’s first meeting of the year, Jan. 5. District 5 Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery was named as vice chair for the year.
Weygandt, currently serving his sixth term, represents the western portion of the county, including Lincoln, Sheridan and parts of Rocklin and Roseville.
“It is a privilege to sit alongside my fellow board members to work on the important issues facing the county,” Weygandt said. “I am excited by the prospect of the New Year and hope our county’s residents join us and participate in the local government process."
The chairman presides over board meetings held in Auburn and quarterly in Tahoe. The chairman also approves final agendas and represents the county at community events. Each year the board elects a different supervisor to serve as chair.
Weygandt has been a member of the Placer County Board of Supervisors since 1995. He lives on the same foothills ranch in rural Lincoln where he grew up.
