Firefighter I Public Safety (Yuba College)
Provides student with the basic skills and knowledge to work in the fire service. The California State Firefighter I curriculum will be followed. Provides training in basic concepts including fire department organization, fire control, equipment operation, prevention, protection, hose, nozzles, and breathing apparatus. Includes physical training. Upon successful completion of all requirements, students will receive IFSAC/ProBoard certification as a Firefighter 1.

Fire Academy (Butte College)
The Butte Fire Academy has been training future firefighters for over 40 years. The standards of the program are founded on the belief that only intelligent, skillful, strong, and adaptable people of good character are suitable for the fire service. The life-safety services provided by modern fire departments demand these skills and abilities, and our program is dedicated to providing the necessary training to augment the natural talents of our students.

Basic Firefighter Academy (American River College)
This 560-hour course provides manipulative and technical training in basic concepts of fire department organization, ropes, knots and hitches, hose and hose handling, ladder evolutions, wildland fires, fire investigation, fire prevention, salvage operations, fire department apparatus, tools and equipment, breathing apparatus, how to prepare yourself for a career in the fire service, extinguishers, personal protective equipment, communications, hazardous materials, confined space awareness, FF safety and survival, emergency care, forced entry, and physical fitness training is provided as part of our program. The academy starts Monday, August 7, 2023 and ends Friday, December 15, 2023.

Fire Academy (Lake Tahoe Community College)
The Lake Tahoe Basin Fire Academy at Lake Tahoe Community College is offered through partnerships with the Lake Valley Fire Protection District, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, and Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District. Lake Tahoe Community College is recognized by the California State Fire Marshal and the State Board of Fire Services as an Accredited Regional Training Program (ARTP).
