- Speedboat Beach upgrades
Published on February 26, 2016
Placer County will host its third public workshop on the use and management of Speedboat Beach March 14 in Kings Beach.
Speedboat Beach is located at the intersection of Harbor Avenue and Lake Street in Kings Beach, near the Nevada state line. It’s a popular destination for area residents and visitors, but there are concerns about traffic circulation and parking, along with general misuse of the beach and surrounding areas.
In its first two workshops county staff gathered input on concerns and possible solutions and will present proposals for parking changes and new signage based on the feedback already received.
The Placer County Board of Supervisors allocated $50,000 in March 2015 to update plans for Speedboat’s management. County staff expect to propose a series of changes, based on community input, for the board’s consideration in April.
