- About TBID for Non-Lodging Businesses
TBID stands for Tourism Business Improvement District. A TBID is a way of funding tourism promotion and economic development activities with the specific aim of increasing overall revenue for assessed businesses in the local area.
The North Lake Tahoe business community approved a TBID for eastern Placer County in March of 2021 that established the North Lake Tahoe TBID for a five-year term, ranging from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2026.
The money collected through TBID is managed by the North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) with oversight from the NTCA Board of Directors and corresponding committees. Representatives of TBID-assessed businesses can participate on the NTCA Board and in other related committees.
