How it works

  1. Check out the CA State Library Park pass at any Placer County Library location and at library mobile stops.  Passes can be checked out for one week with a possible one-week renewal (if no one is waiting). You can also put passes on hold.
  2. Plan your trip. The pass is valid at over 200 participating California State parks for entry of one passenger vehicle with 9 people or less or a highway-licensed motorcycle.
  3. Park for free at a participating California State Park.  Show the pass to a uniformed state park employee, display it from your vehicle’s rearview mirror, or scan the pass barcode at a scanner (where available).
  4. Return the pass to the library for others to use and let library staff know about your experience!
