Use your library card to check out a free vehicle day-use CA State Parks pass!

In partnership with the First Partner’s Office and the California State Library, State Parks is providing free vehicle day-use entry to over 200 participating state park units operated by State Parks for check out to library-card holders, including at Placer County Library! The California State Library Parks Pass is valid for entry of one passenger vehicle with a capacity of nine people or less or one highway-licensed motorcycle.
How it works
- Check out the CA State Library Park pass at any Placer County Library location and at library mobile stops. Passes can be checked out for one week with a possible one-week renewal (if no one is waiting). You can also put passes on hold.
- Plan your trip. The pass is valid at over 200 participating California State parks for entry of one passenger vehicle with 9 people or less or a highway-licensed motorcycle.
- Park for free at a participating California State Park. Show the pass to a uniformed state park employee, display it from your vehicle’s rearview mirror, or scan the pass barcode at a scanner (where available).
- Return the pass to the library for others to use and let library staff know about your experience!
