Homework Help with HelpNow

The California State Library provides free online tutoring for California K-12 students, available through public libraries. Through HelpNow, live real-time homework assistance is available 24 hours a day by laptop, tablet, or phone from qualified tutors using state curriculum and standards.

24/7 assistance is available in English and Spanish for Language Arts and Mathematics.

Every day between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm, assistance is available in core K-12 subjects in many languages besides English, such as Spanish.

Adult learners also have access to writing assistance, citizenship resources, and other skill-building tools.

We offer access to California's K-12 Online content (School from Home) made available by the California State Library, and can help you learn how to use any of these.

Some support our staff can offer is to gather age-appropriate resources from our collection for your students or you to use, recommend reading materials based off of favorite authors, series or reading level, organize tours or visit your classroom.

California K-12 Digital Resources

California provides complimentary access to the below online educational content from Britannica, ProQuest, TeachingBooks, and Gale for all public K-12 schools and students across the state. These resources, often known as "library databases," offer an extensive range of digital content, including magazines, books, scientific research, newspaper articles, photos, videos, and more. All of this content is aligned with California's educational standards. This initiative is also available at no cost to public schools, districts, local libraries, or individual students.
