The system enables the Placer County Sheriff’s Office to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations such as: severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. Ready Placer Dashboard

During an emergency, residents are urged to monitor the Ready Placer Dashboard, a one-stop emergency information center that is continually updated.

The dashboard features interactive maps to help residents identify evacuation areas and fire locations, assess road conditions and learn more about power outages, air quality and weather conditions. The dashboard also contains the twitter feeds from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, CAL FIRE/Placer County Fire Department and Placer County.  

The Ready Placer Dashboard received more than 3.3 million visits in 2022 for information related to the Mosquito Fire and the winter. Bookmark the dashboard in 2023!

For information and non-emergency assistance during an emergency, residents can call 2-1-1. Our  2-1-1 operators are available 24/7 to answer your questions. 

2-1-1 is also your connecting point to programs and services in Placer County. Whether it’s help to stop smoking, assistance with your grocery budget or housing needs, 2-1-1 is available to connect you with available resources every day of the year.  


North Lake Tahoe Newsletter

Placer County introduced a new North Lake Tahoe newsletter in July 2023 to keep locals informed about county news related to eastern Placer County and North Lake Tahoe. Sign up for the new monthly newsletter to learn more about county projects in North Lake Tahoe, community input opportunities and the programs and services provided by the county.
