- National Dog Day adoption special
Published on August 23, 2016
Placer County’s animal shelter in North Auburn will offer 50 percent off dog adoption fees on National Dog Day - Friday, Aug. 26. Dog adoptions, normally $121, will be just $60 for dogs over 12 months of age (plus a $20 licensing fee).
Dog adoption fees include the cost of the heartworm test; a first heartworm preventative pill; flea and tick prevention; a first distemper, parvo and bordetella vaccination; rabies vaccination; deworming; microchip; and spay or neuter procedures.
Search available animals for your new best friend on Placer County’s website. Or drop by the Auburn shelter (11251 B Avenue, Auburn) anytime during its recently-expanded hours, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Would-be adopters must complete an adoption application, also available on the county’s website.
