- Fish Advisory Program
The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) periodically tests fish from water bodies throughout the State. When that testing shows concerning levels of a substance that could be harmful to humans (such as mercury or PCBs) in local fish, they issue a Fish Advisory. More information about OEHHA and the Fish Advisory program can be found here: https://oehha.ca.gov/fish/advisories.
Placer County Environmental Health is responsible with posting these advisories at locations along affected bodies of water in our county where anglers are common. A list of waterbodies in Placer County with advisories can be found by filtering the table at https://oehha.ca.gov/fish/advisories for Placer County.
