Adult Literacy

Placer Adult Literacy Services (PALS) provides adults with the tools to change their lives by giving them the reading, writing, and basic math skills needed to earn a living, stay healthy and improve our community.

“ESL for Life” classes 

Placer School for Adults has partnered with Placer County Library to provide this program at the Rocklin Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the community room. 

This class provides English as a Second Language instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the context of many areas of modern life, including health, finances, education, and technology. Students will learn how to use English to participate more effectively in their daily lives. 

Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) pre- and post-testing is required of all students enrolled in this class.

Participants must register in advance using the online ESL interest form.

Las clases de inglés como segundo idioma son gratuitas y se ofrecen en la biblioteca de Rocklin. Los maestros acreditados de Placer School for Adults brindan instrucción en lectura, escritura, habla y comprensión auditiva a todos los niveles de estudiantes de inglés. Las clases son los martes y jueves de 12:30 a 14:30.
