Gold Run Cemetery

Gold Run Cemetery Sign, Established 1853

The Gold Run Cemetery is a Gold Rush era cemetery in the community of Gold Run near Interstate 80. Because Gold Run is an unincorporated area of Placer County, the County of Placer is responsible for the operations and maintenance of this Cemetery. In 2000, the Board of Supervisors created the Gold Run Cemetery Committee to oversee the cemetery. The Department of Facilities Management works with the Committee.

Gold Run Cemetery Committee

It is the Mission of the Gold Run Cemetery Committee to advise and oversee the operation of the Gold Run Cemetery. Committee members receive and review burial requests, organize an annual cleanup of the Cemetery, and advise the County on Cemetery policies.

Burial Requests

The Gold Run Cemetery currently has available space for new burials for qualified community members. The criteria for burial in the Cemetery and in existing family plots may be found in the bylaws. This information is also included on the Application for Burial and the Application for Burial in a Family Plot, which can be found on this web page. Applications for burial are submitted to the County and reviewed by the Committee at a Public Meeting. The Committee’s approval or denial will be sent to the applicant in writing.
