Hidden Falls Park trail realignment

Tahoe Area Plan amendments approved
Seeking to generate economic investment and spur environmentally-beneficial redevelopment in North Lake Tahoe, the Placer County Board of Supervisors approved a set of amendments that would allow revisions to the 2017 Tahoe Basin Area Plan.

New parking ordinance for Placer
The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday amended the county’s parking ordinance to strengthen existing parking enforcement and increase countywide parking fine amounts. The changes go into effect Nov. 30.

Risk Management wins statewide award
Placer County’s Risk Management Division has received one of six statewide EAGLE Awards for “Innovation & Excellence in Development & Implementation of Risk Management Programs.” The prestigious award was presented to the Risk Management team for its project “Road Show” by Public Risk Innovation, Solutions, and Management, or PRISM, the county’s risk management solutions provider.

Planning Commission vacancy
Placer County is looking to fill a vacancy for the District 2 Planning Commission seat. An ideal candidate must live in District 2, which includes Lincoln, Sheridan and West Roseville (west of Fiddyment Road), and have interest in being involved in the county’s land development and zoning efforts.

General Plan contract approved
Placer County took another step toward updating its General Plan today as the Board of Supervisors took action to approve a $3.5 million contract with a consultant team headed by PlaceWorks, Inc.

Transition to Partnership HealthPlan
Placer County is one of ten counties statewide transitioning to a new Medi-Cal managed care plan, Partnership HealthPlan, as of Jan. 1, 2024. Partnership will replace Anthem and California Health & Wellness as Placer’s managed care plan. Kaiser Permanente will also continue to serve some Placer Medi-Cal members.

The Placer County Board of Supervisors took recent action to adopt an ordinance to rezone 332 parcels of land to comply with the Auburn Municipal Airport’s 2021 Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan.

SR-49 sewer line extension

Lower Secline project complete
Placer County celebrated the completion of the Lower Secline Water Quality Improvement Project with a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 30 in Kings Beach. The project brought needed drainage infrastructure to both Secline Street and Brockway Vista Drive to help prevent an estimated 2,000 pounds of sediment runoff from reaching Lake Tahoe per year. It also stabilized both roadways and added pavement, curbs and gutters, new sidewalks and parking for beachgoers.
