Pet Adoptions Just $20 at Auburn Shelter April 30 - May 7
Published on April 28, 2016
Facing a spring surplus of rescue pets - and in celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day April 30 - Placer County’s Auburn animal services center will lower adoption fees from April 30 through May 7. Dog adoptions - normally $118 plus a $20 licensing fee - are just $20 (plus the $20 licensing fee). Cat adoption fees are reduced from $98 to $20 (no licensing fee).
“National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is a great opportunity to raise awareness for all the wonderful animals in need of a warm and loving forever home,” said Anna Piland, Placer County animal services manager. “As the old saying goes, unconditional love is a close as your nearest animal shelter.”
Dog adoption fees include the cost of the heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months); a first heartworm preventative pill; flea and tick prevention; a first distemper, parvo and bordetella vaccination; rabies vaccination (if over 4 months); deworming; microchipping; and spay or neuter procedures.
Cat adoption fees include the cost of feline AIDS and leukemia test; a first feline distemper vaccination; deworming; rabies vaccination (if over 4 months); microchipping; and spay or neuter procedures.
