Business Startup Series - Lunch and Learn Three Part Series, Part 3 of 3: Presented by the SBDC

Wednesday, July 28, 2021

The Startup Lunch and Learn Series features three, fast-paced workshops that cover the most important three topics for aspiring and new entrepreneurs to know. The Startup Lunch and Learn series will introduce new and existing entrepreneurs to essential information for business planning, financial management and funding.

July 14th 12:00-12:45PM The Startup Business Plan - The old idea of a 25-page written business plan does not work in today's dynamic startup environment. Entrepreneurs don't have the time to write it and funders don't have the time to read it. Today's entrepreneurs need a way to create a roadmap for their business that is quick, efficient and effective. One that provides a solid roadmap for the future for themselves and potential funders. The Startup Business Plan workshop will introduce entrepreneurs to a new way of business planning - one that focuses on identifying the key areas that need to be planned in order to create a successful business. In this workshop you'll learn about the importance of business planning, understand the most critical topics to address in a business plan and see best of class examples of great startup plans.

July 21st 12:00-12:45PM Financials for Startups - Understanding small business financials is one of the most important aspects of being a successful entrepreneur. Yet too many business owners lack the basic understanding of how the money works in a small business. This workshop will cover the 'Big 3' financial statements: income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. We'll also cover the top 5 most important financial concepts that entrepreneurs need to know about to successfully manage the money. Far from a dry accounting course, this is hands-on, practical information you can use today to improve your business.

July 28th 12:00-12:45PM Funding your Startup - Funding is the fuel for small business startups as well as growing businesses. But oftentimes the funding options for small business are confusing and hard to understand. This workshop will cover the primary sources for small business financing, what they are, how they work and which ones might be most beneficial to your business. We'll overview SBA loans, microloans, grants, angel/VC and crowdfunding. Join our workshop to learn what funding options are available and how you can get the fuel you need to start or grow your business.

**You will be emailed the Zoom Link before the start of the workshop**
