[ARCHIVED] eLibrary Highlight: Novelist Select - Reading Recommendations at Your Fingertips!

eLibrary Highlight for Novelist Select, featuring a screenshot of example author & title read-alikes

Finding books similar to those you have read--or the rest of the book series in order--is now much easier using our new NoveList Select service in the library catalog. It adds recommendations from librarians and other experts, as well as fellow readers, for over 5 million titles at the bottom of the modal window of each catalog search link.

Other cool features of Novelist Select:

  • View Reading Levels: Novelist Select suggestions will offer both Lexile measures and Accelerated Reader levels.
  • Availability: Ever find the perfect book, only to go to check it out and find out it’s not available? That aggravation ends for you with availability and number of copies owned listed alongside any recommended reading material. And anything we don't own, you can suggest we purchase it!
  • Story elements browsing: Reading experts have developed a signature set of story elements that dives deep into the facets of stories and characteristics. This includes facets we know matter to readers, like mood/appeal, characters, diversity, themes, genres, and more. Novelist Select's interactive story elements mixer is unique and uncovers titles readers may never have found before.
  • Expert recommendations: Novelist Select's book experts identify great matches and then write up a reason why they made the match, helping readers decide if a book will be right for them. The Novelist Select team is made up of people who are passionate about books -- like your librarian! -- and know what it takes to help readers.
  • Visible Goodreads reviews: NoveList Select is the only type of catalog enrichment service to include millions of Goodreads reader reviews for additional insights. If you are a Goodreads reviewer, your review might show up in our catalog!
