[ARCHIVED] Redesigned website for Placer County Library!

Screenshot of the redesigned library website homepage

Placer County Library is pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned library website, with easier navigation, a more modern look, and a greater visibility of key resources to support your discovery and use of library services.

New features, new content to help you

In addition to improved overall navigation and a streamlined homepage with icons pointing to our most frequently used resources, the redesigned site offers many new and enhanced features to address the distinct and varied needs of our library users, including:

  • New quick search at the top of the site that allows you to immediately search the catalog or our website, right from our homepage!
  • A systemwide calendar of events for all locations, along with individual location calendars and a separate storytime calendar. Subscribe to a calendar and get notifications of upcoming events!
  • Quick access to popular eLibrary, or digital/online, resources from our homepage using the scrolling slideshow featuring Hoopla, Libby, Kanopy, LinkedIn Learning and more!
  • New pages for Educators, Early Literacy, and "What to Read Next."
  • Expanded pages such as our Collections page which now includes buttons to search the catalog by material type like videogames, read-a-longs, Books on CD, and more!
  • Feedback button on our homepage to learn how we can continue to develop and improve our website to better serve you!

We will continue to refine the site in the next couple of months with user feedback. There is a feedback button on our homepage where you can provide suggestions for how we can improve, report technical issues, tell us if you can't find something, or even drop us a compliment.

We are grateful to Placer County IT for their support and assistance in our website redesign. Placer County Library staff also reviewed close to 100 external library websites that inspired and influenced the design and content on our new site.
