Introduction
As the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA), Environmental Health Services is certified by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to enforce state laws and regulations at solid waste facilities within its jurisdiction. The Auburn Transfer Station (Auburn TS) operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit (SWFP) issued by the LEA. The owner of the Auburn TS has filed an application with the LEA to comply with the requirements of a 5-year review of the SWFP and a Transfer Processing Report (TPR) update.
Description of Project
The operator has applied for a 5-year review of the SWFP with no permit changes proposed. The TPR was updated to reference updates to the equipment, updated emergency contacts and resumes of management staff, minor facility upgrades, and a revised site map.
Local Enforcement Agency’s Determination
The LEA reviewed the application package and determined that the proposed changes are consistent with the existing California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents. The LEA further determined that the proposed changes are consistent with the State Minimum Standards and do not conflict with the terms and conditions of the current Solid Waste Facilities Permit. As required by 27 CCR 21660.1, the LEA is distributing this notice for the purpose of noticing its acceptance of the revised application.
