What is SB 1383?

SB 1383 is a new State regulation that goes into effect January 1, 2022, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the amount of organic waste that goes to landfills. Statewide targets have been set to reduce organic waste disposal by 75%, and to rescue 20% of edible food that is currently thrown away by businesses by 2025.
