My current Carry Concealed Weapon license expires prior to my availability to complete the renewal application. May I continue to carry my weapon(s)?

No. Any expired Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license is invalid and it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon in the state of California if you do not have a valid CCW license granted by a county within the state. We do allow a permit holder up to 120 days to complete the renewal process without having to start as a new applicant, but you may not legally carry until you have your renewed license on your person. For more information, contact the Concealed Carry Weapons office.
